This book is divided into five sections. The first section deals with "Prerequisites of safe birthing" where conductive environment for providing quality of care to the women is discussed. Special emphasis has been given to improving the quality of health care. Second section deals with "High-risk pregnancy" group requiring close supervision of trained personal and emphasizes the need for multispecialty linkage and teamwork. Third section is on 'Safe birthing: Essentials" which includes special and essential skills required during conduct of delivery by vaginal route and during cesarean section. Section 4 is about "Dealing with tough situations" where life-threatening or risky circumstances for the mother and the fetus require quick response in an evidence-based manner. The last section 5 is on "Care after birth" where importance of care in postpartum period has been discussed.
